According to my "folk" knowledge of beef.  Beef is known to be high in iron, so if you are constipated; think of how much beef did you consumed for the day. 


Beef is another meat group that is useful for childbirth, odd; perhaps the high in iron helps especially after blood lost. 

Beef has a "fishy" type of taste to it.  That is why most of the time, you see ginger is used in conjunction with beef; ginger removes the "fishy" taste.
