Pork chop, pork loin, pork shoulder, etc is fine.  If you think about it, the pig is one of the dirties animal that I have seen, not to imply there is no others.

As for "folk" tales on pork, I don't seem to recalled any value for it.  From the pig, you get great ribs, pork intestines, stomach which tasted pretty good.  This is one of the animals that seems to have no nutritional value but contains lots of good sections to cook with.  (I realized this is not necessary the best description.)
